One of my go-to for local products is Alun-Alun Indonesia, Grand Indonesia..they have lots of variety of indonesia products from clothes, bags, shoes, homeware, accessories, beauty products and even snacks...my first favorite corner is the wrapping section where they provide traditional boxes-besek with beautiful paint, rattan or wood picnic baskets, batik-pattern wrapping, or tikar clutch..the 2nd fave is the snack corner where you could find beautiful wrapped snacks which brings back your childhood memory...yummy! My 3rd fave is fashion and accessories corner in front of the tiny bookstore where you could find limited design from Indonesia young designer that you could not find it elsewhere..
Some people thought the tag there is quite pricey but I think this is how to appreciate Indonesia products among plenty international brands at Grand Indonesia...we need to support it, don't we?
I actually bought this besek collections only IDR 40,000 each..Nice, isn't it? It's wrapped with batik with modern color touch!
