Bash Prep

I am preparing cake for the eldest birthday this week....He's a bit picky eater, will I pass?
Inspiration : Red Velvet Cookies

Flour Friendship

I am starting to build my friendship with flour, yeast, baking powder, baking soda, buttermilk...and all that newbie baking ingredients now with the hope it will last long....

Like I said before,  reading and following recipe is one story and to make it works is another story. I am a self-proclaimed lazy baker, where I used to skip some recipe instructions judging yourself that if you use ur common sense, anything will work.

And after several baker's test, I was totally wrong.  If it said, you must preheat your oven, you switch on your oven before you start kneading...if it said you have to use instant yeast and let the dough rest for 1-2 hours...u let it rest else you have your bread rock!

Baking is my new toy, no matter no one will eat your bread...hahaha....until then, I will continue my search to build a long lasting friendship with baking...Hoo to the ray!

D Day.....Science Day

Gosh, I remember now that I'd been wanting to have Volcano project since I was teenager, inspired by The Cosby show era.  Oh yes, I am that old school girl!

You've easily blown away when u saw 4th grade students were eager to make complicated school science project though I now realize that was not a rocket science anyway..

So when the school offered me to volunteer on Science day, I simply say yes to Volcano project.  Just put baking soda, vinegar, red food coloring, and you're done!  The kiddos enjoyed the process of deconstructing the mountain..aha!

The Prep Day

This was my latest project at the youngest school.  They organized a Science Day where parents volunteering to do a simple science experiment  for 1st grade.

I've been wanting to do this for quite so long and the 1st thing come to mind was a volcano experiment with baking soda and vinegar.

For the mountain template, I'd printed out from www.mrprintables.com and build a mountain from play dough.  I also prepared 15 templates for the kiddos to try this at home complete with the drinking bottle for the volcano mixture.

Before the D day, I baked some choco coffee cookies for the goodies.  Hope the kiddos will love it......wish me luck!

Cinnamon Breakfast

My kinda breakfast menu this morning...I brought my frozen pizza dough and cinnamon powder to the office with the hope to heat it up in the microwave.  What happened was the sugar is not melted and the pizza dough is as crispy as cookies....well, I would call this cinnamon cookies pizzeria brekkie!

Dough Dinner

In the spirit of introducing a slow food process, we were having pizza dinner last night from the scratch.  We prepared the pizza dough by ourselves and free to top on any topping we like.

Mine was Korean style with the mix of gochujang paste, parsley and paprika...and the kiddos, as usual, were sausage and cheese combo, like nothing else matter!  you can do your experiment for the best recipe on Pizza Dough...

I used to prepare also for breakfast by having the dough to be baked for 10 minutes and put in the freezer. You could top it whenever wherever you like...easy,...happy!
