Nasi Liwet Instan

I was so excited when I got this from my bestie.  She bought it on her way to Garut for Kawah Drajat trip....though I am not sure what was there, but I could not wait to cook this and bit amazed to read an interesting interpretation on Wikipedia

MP Lasagna Gulung

If you managed to take a Bogor city tour you will find  one nice shop selling Baked Macaroni called MP.
I am not a big fan of MP product,but......lately I was surprised with their new Lasagna Roll.  Hmm,..I hope I spell this correctly.
The recipe is intepreted differently from the original one.  Lasagna rolled filled with a slice of big sausage, cheese, mayonaise, a slice of boiled egg and......drum roll......spinach!  As a cheesy fanatic, I like the rich cheese and mayo combo.  Two thumbs up for the idea and you should definitely try.. yum yum!

Why we are sooo desperate?  As simply as we are so called ambitious non professional chef desperately going to bake this!  My Cakies

We now make a small competition who to manage baking first!

Yellow Hue

I want to have that vintage drawer..hik hik! Bright Bazaar

Tahu Gejrot

This was from my last picnic trip to Bogor.  My go-to place is Rest Area Sentul where they have a nice Tahu Gejrot and Teh Poci.

No one else - in the family - likes the dish but I never skip nor resist for the chopped fried Cirebon tofu served with fresh garlic, shallot, bird chilli and tamarind sauce served in a small plate.... There is nothing fancy about the place, but for 7000 rupiah  a dish, it's a worthy starter to start the day!

Nasi Kucing

The modern version of Javanese Nasi Kucing From Satay Senayan Express Grand Indonesia, Jakarta... one dish meal a smaller portion...i guess it should be perfect for any afternoon tea meal (or is that too much?).

I love how they cooked the rice and I am inspired by the packaging, the banana leave replaced by plastic!

Tofu Steak

I am sold by the Tofu Steak of Yoshi Izakaya Japanese Restaurant at Gran Melia Hotel Jakarta.

The tofu is delicate, combined with the sautee mushroom and onion.  The topping, seems something made from fish? sorry, I need to add my cooking glossary though.  The cooking is perfect, not overcooked yet crunchy.

You should try their mushroom soup too.  Clear soup with enoki and shittake wrapped in the aluminium foil.   You eat directly from the foil,..light taste, unique and trendy!  What amazed me, it served with key lime and chopped bird chilli..I thought Japanese food would not recognize this lime and chilli, hmm..

Earth Hour

I am done my negotiation with the kiddos. They could play with the Ipad on our way to school (plus a little fight who'll take the first turn, of course.) if we turn off the car's air conditioner till we reach school......who needs aircon early in the morning anyway!

Cheers to the Earth Hour and cheers to Ipad (sigh!)
