Technology

The kiddos and technology...can never get enough (sigh!)

Can you blame them or blame the parents for introducing the technology?

Brightspot Market

Visiting Brightspot Market at Plaza Senayan. First time ever visiting the anticipated local brands bazaar. The place was so packed but I managed to check out my fave brands : Nikicio, Cotton Ink, Happa, Geulis, Kle, and Milcah.
Some are with their latest collections, some with items I've bought months ago. The price is quite reasonable though for few items compared to international high street brands such Zara and Mango are quite pricey but it is always nice to see young Indonesian designers with their creative minds designing edgy collections. We do have to support Indonesia local products, in any case, don't we?

And the treasure hunt of the day, Oline workrobe with their unstructured cutting.

The necklace?no...it's my own handmade collection!..haha.

Teacher vs Ipad

I was invited to be a guest teacher at my youngest kindergarten school. The topic was supposed to be NOSE. .When I came, the pupils mumbling for body parts....Gosh, I did not have the material!

The first 30 minutes, I managed to calm myself for the topic changes and taught them the NOSE..it's NOSE, N-O-S-E!
The last 30 minutes, I started to be clueless, singing done, dancing done..and now? Ah, I remembered  I had blank canvas apps on my Ipad! I quickly asked them to calm down, sitting on the carpet and letting them to draw anything they wanted one by one, for 19 kiddos!

It turned to be a fun success story...One kid was trying to draw twice and telling me that he's yet getting his turn....another kid was so upset and telling me he's gonna walk away from the class and go to buy Ipad on his own! Ayaya, isn't that cute?

PS :  The next days, I become the famous Mama, and the pupils following me around.....uhhmm, do they follow me or my Ipad? aha! I don't care... I am so happy!

Pasar Mayestik

I always love to go to the traditional market as you will feel the experience : the warm smile and people interaction.

I love to hear the people chit chat, smiling, joking and laughing, without any pretention.  The storekeepers do have a good product knowledge, they know exactly what to get if we are clueless..the feeling that you won't get if you go to supermarket or malls..

One of my go-to market is Pasar Mayestik..as you can see, they have tremendous treasure collections..
A-colorful origami papers  B-cookies stainless mold and easily transform as your party decorator! C-colorful ice stick, yes they do have in color!  D-colorful plates for wall decoration  E-colorful tissue papers  F-big jars  G-necklace materials

and my treasure hunt of the day :

The Story of RhumChoco

Rhum Choco was actually inspired by the Rhum Chocolate drink at the snack corner in any XXI Cinema.  I am not a choco holic and not fond into choco drink.  But it is easy to fall in love with this drink..the combination of rhum with choco will melt you down..try not to pour the whipped cream on top...why? it will add some centimeters to your hip!

Lemon jar, we could easily imitate this! Pinterest

Mrs.Fields

Ah, this Mrs. Fields is killing me!

At first, my kiddos and I went to my bestie apartment and we were served by the fresh-from-the-oven choco chip cookies. My kiddos loved it so much as the warm choco chip inside were melting and yummy...I asked the recipe but she was clueless how to make as she bought the frozen cookies dough from one of Dubai supermarket before she's transferred back to Jakarta....she didn't even remember the name...aarrgghh...

She was then trying to get it from any local supermarket in Jakarta for my kiddos.. Kemchick,FoodHall, Ranch Market...with no luck! ahh,...big hug!

Lucky, I finally found Mrs. Fields..similar taste and it becomes my guilty pleasure.

My kiddos love to put in the microwave for a while to have the choco chips melting..but me likey to eat as is....you could taste the moist texture from the cookies, a bit like eating a chewing gum combined with the crunchiness from the choc chip...

Yes, Mrs. Fields is killing me!

Birthday Bash

This was my project over the weekend, helping my bestie to decorate and cooked for her son bday party.  And the menus are Chicken Cordon Bleu, fried potato cheese and of course, Nasi Bakar!

We both did not have a chance to sit and plan properly so this was organized by me and my bestie between our office meetings, deadlines, business trips, blackberry messenger, chatting, phone calls and the list continues...Even on the last day before the D day we're struggling to print the photos and looking for the bday cakes!  I told the boss..don't wait me up, I will be having a long lunch with her! haha...Lucky, my besties was his neighbor when they were assigned in Libya few years back....sorry boss, will not mix work with hobby next time...promise promise promise!

First lesson...it's not easy to be a party organizer! I was 30 minutes late to the venue, only had 1,5 hours to decorate, plus pile of decorating and food boxes to carry as the venue held at the poolside on the 3rd floors! phewww...

But at the end, the party filled with lots of excitement! We were really having fun on that day and it was paid off!  I am thrilled for another bday bash in the future..
