Finally....Indonesian culinary show will be in Asian Food Channel!

I was questioning this before  Asian Food Channel  as I quite envy to see even Phillipines are in the show not to mention Malaysian and Singaporean culinary....

The show is Taste of Indonesia and it was funded by Indonesia Trade Ministry..Yay!

Portobello

Today's lunch...sautee portobello mushroom with chicken.

I like portobello, just stir it with onion and chicken...don't be overcooked, portobello will remain crunchy!

Yes...I finally..finally functioning back my accessories holder as picture holder.  I bought wooden pinch at Ace Hardware and hang the pictures on it...easy!

Help

As you live in Indonesia,especially in Jakarta, you are blessed to have someone helping you in your daily life, every time you move..you will find office boys to prepare your drink, a helper at the food court, even the hypermarket cashier where you expect them to pack your groceries while you pay...One of the reason my expatriate friends love to stay in Indonesia!

As usual, the more you grow...errr..older, I realized we should honor that privilege..

 

I now try to at least help the cashier to pack my own groceries, ask the kiddos to clean their tray and trash the leftover to the trash bag at the food court or just to put the popcorns pack directly to the trash bag when the helper at the cinema comes near you...hey,we are responsible for it anyway!

I just hope small favor would have an impact...

I adore Jamie Oliver Jamie Oliver.  I adore his food philosophy understanding where food comes from, and recognizing the power it can have on our health, happiness, and even finances. cooking sounds easy for him.....

Another thing to adore him is his garden! Look! He is planting everything by himself!

I don't know Katy Perry song collections though she's everywhere between tabloids and gossip news especially after her marriage with Russell Brand.

Having pre-teen kid who is so in love with her song, you have no choice but to learn and watch her clips.  I started to like her style from Hello Kitty catsuit, colorful bikinis or sequined mini dress with flawless makeup and killer body.  But I never actually approve my son to watch her video. Have you seen her California Gurl video with her being naked in a cotton candy as well as wearing the candy color bikini?gosh!

I don't try to discuss with him till I found her "Firework" lyrics..it's quite inspiring since it told us how to be strong, heard and seen.  I then tried to openly discuss that Katy Perry is not only about her sexiness.  We learn and sing together the lyrics.  At least that was my minimum effort to distract his attention to the bikinis!

Eye Makeup - Part 2

My weekender project....testing on eye makeup..it's still a tough one, I even had uneven eyebrow!

This time I used Dior purple and white shadow and MAC dark grey shadow...a little blend here and there and voila! a bit scary, no?

Kue balok

I promised to post about Kue Balok, the sundanese traditional oldiest cake.

To be honest, I could not recall whether I ate the kue when I was a child and became a part of my childhood memory.  I think I am more familiar with Scone first..However, the more you grow up (errr...older), the more you appreciate the past.  My mom did remember this kue. 

If I could compare, this kue had a similar taste like Scone....To me, kue balok tastes much better with a hint of sweetness inside...Plain scone you need to top up with butter and jam...

Anywayyyy..I found this warong somewhere on Burangrang street in Bandung..this was taken probably 3 months back. 

I was more excited to the warong itself.  They served the kue balok with bandrek - the traditional ginger drink from Bandung - in a coconut bowl, so you could dip the kue to the bowl...yum!
They also add the vintage and kampong look by putting the jars with oldiest cookies....nice!

Vegie Nugget

The kiddos are picky eater for vegetables.

I have no choice to blend the broccoli, cauliflower and carrot inside my homemade chicken nugget...Anyway, they are still complaining why it tastes different.  But I love the result, the cauliflower gave a moist yet crunchy texture..you should definitely try!

Eye Makeup

You need to check this out.. Painted Ladies... she has 365 shadow collections easy to put on..Here's one of the look that I fell in love.

As my weekend project, this is automatically reminding me of my eye-shadow collections which is now rusty and dusty in my drawer.  I quickly mirroring this.. it was tough though as I am not that talented (sigh!)

I remembered I was always starring and felt amazing to see my mom doing her makeup when I was a little child and I had ever wish I would become a professional make up artist someday...

I think I could pursue that interest now, don't u think? haha, just keep on wishing!
