Fallen Tortilla
Yes, we grind the leftover muesli and attempted to cook wholewheat tortilla. With the thought i will have a beautiful wholewheat flour.....it's not a success story, but I got a big big help from Hershey's...that choco syrup always be my lifetime saviour, at least no tortilla left now on the table...plus, the grated cheddar cheese on top, of course..
and the irony continued, we ended our weekend at Haagen Dasz cafe at Plaza Senayan, and the kiddos were much much happier there for the banana split and waffle ice cream...sigh!

Brotherhood Cooking : Oat Choco Chips
Been busy lately and away from blogging....*woooww, hellow excuses* this was a very berry late post from last last last weekend.
Starting with some leftover muesli, peanut butter at home, I found it must be cute to prepare some oat choco chips inspired by this one...

The Shumay Chronicles
It was started during Lebaran break when the mbaks were pulang kampung for two weeks. It always be my dream project to introduce process to the kiddos...a non complicated one, of course. I happened to find shumay recipes in one of my used newspaper pile and decided to make one..You could always browse around for the perfect recipe, your choice!
The 1st attempt was the most luxury as I used too much chicken to the flour, it's deliciously amazing but from the cost standpoint, I will be loosing some bucks..hahaha....no chance to become Shumay Millionaire, I would say.
The 2nd's better...i cut dumpling wrap into four and put a smaller shumay version....way to go, but...nom nom nom. At least i don't have to buy now!
Looks pretty yummy? *proud shumay-wannabe businesswoman*

False Kite
I felt like it ain't easy to be the big city kiddos...You have to juggle between malls, traffic, Ipad, thousand choices on Cartoon Network, and......nothing else! To be freely independent outdoor boys then you have to deal with your protective mom and dad who told you to wash your hands all the time, do not touch this and that, go home before 5 and all the scheduled drama continues....(yeap, that's me, the mom!)
And the result proven itself....Lebaran day, with all the cousins, and it's time to fly kite!
They managed to fly low, but finally my brother asked help from the kampong boy who happened to pass by to fly it high......and the boy said : u bought the wrong kite, it should not be this kite if you want to fly high.
OH lalalala, we are such a pro :)

It's a Wrap!
So this was our latest cooking project. I am crazy over tortilla, but I never have the store-bought one...why? the frozen price in Jakarta is way too crazy expensive for a thin slice of cooked flour.
Managed to browse around and finally made it by ourselves. It's an easy project and perfect for kiddos cooking as it feels like playing up with the dough...250 gr all-purpose flour, 1 1/2 cup warm water (add as u like depending on the dough consistency), 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tsp baking powder , stir, combined, cut into 8-12 pieces, roll and grill in non-stick pan...u're rock!
Another thing makes me proud, the youngest deeply in love to his homemade tortilla, he put choco jam and cheese for many times and insist me to make another roll this week....OK baby, let's roll!

The Power Juice
As much as I love this almond milk, the kiddos were so-so....as usual....rather than non-essential and timeless fighting, I rather save my energy to mix frozen black cherry and ripe banana into it....
And ta-da.......purple milkshake ala me!

Bekel Bekel
Remember my post on Ice Cream Pinata ? Yep, that was for my bestie daughter birthday.
She wanted to have ice cream theme party, and when we discussed on the goody bag, we came up with something so-called-NEKAD! She decided to have Indonesia traditional toys as the goody bag. This is something I really wanted for so long...Kids nowadays are more into Ipad than bekel, congklak, kolecer and yoyo!
Sooo....she was searching for Indonesian traditional toys provider and happily found one at Bedil Jepret and you know who was the most happy girl receiving the goody bag? Me, me, meeeee!
She wrapped it in the beautiful brown bag and she even prepared the cute Wikipedia printout for each toy so Kyra's besties won't look at her with frowning face no clue what's in the bag...BRILLIANT!
Thanks in a bunch, Kyra and tante Sinta......tante Ira is delighted! And kiddos, let's play this at home!

Another Firetrucks Pinata
Yes, the title is self-explanatory...My bestie buzz me to do any pinata for her 8 y.o. son storytelling project.
The idea is to do the pinata history...isn't that amazing, kids these days?
At first I was so ambitious to prepare Cinco De Mayo pinata...something with animals and colorful layers, but you know my poor skill for creating a cute object? So, I was back to square one, to only prepare the firetrucks which kinda more to no-rocket-science project to me!
And what makes me more happy? The eldest was helping me to glue and I let him to put the things as he likes! Yes, I have an adorable pinata assistant now!
Happy storytelling, my dear Opang...the fire department is ready to serve u!

The Breakfast
I hate when people....wait, let me rephrase my words...i kinda feel sad when people complains about food..and I was referring to the kiddos who sometimes reject the daily food choice we offered. To me, there is a non-simple process behind food and we always have to appreciate that.
In contrary, kiddos are always kiddos and hey...mommy got that, young boys!
One rainy Sunday morning, we were clueless where to go and I ddin't have enough ingredients in the fridge to prepare except bread and smoked beef.......and they started to raise their eyebrow with the high tone.......errr.......BREAD?
I quickly anticipated to have them prepared it by themselves. By any chance, this was my last resort despite dictating and forcing them to eat.
I let them to butter, cheesy-sliced and cooked the beef in the stove...boys, if it were not as per you liking, mommy would put her hands up and surrender!
And the result? Thank God, they're giving me a sweet smooch smooch...Touch down, mommy won this time!

The Greenie Smoothie Boys
Now I know how to get the kiddos attention on my greenie smoothie thing....Easyyyy, involved them in the process, let them invent their new ways to do ...cut, chop, blend and serve. They don't ever care for the spinach ...hoo to the ray, HOORAYY!
They now are smoothie-enthusiast and request to add new mix - whipping cream, berries, ice cream and the list continues....
No worries, honey...mommy will provide you anything as long as you are voluntarily happy transforming yourself into POPEYE, the sailor man!

The Pastry Cooking
And we finally made it.....unsuccessfully! The pastry was not as puffy and fluffy as we wish, we might be a roller-enthusiast rolling the pastry dough to the maximum...sigh! But, it went for 30 minutes cooking preparation to the less than 10 minutes of eating...
So I considered this a success story, signed and sealed! The sausage pastry roll was dedicated for you, abang...good luck for your exam!
