Yay, I just received this from my Singaporean bestie! I always curious how they cooked the Singapore Mee Rebus.  The thick gravy and noodle envy me just like that...

And here was my trial...with lots of  beginner's luck!

The Pastry Cooking

And we finally made it.....unsuccessfully!  The pastry was not as puffy and fluffy as we wish, we might be a roller-enthusiast rolling the pastry dough to the maximum...sigh! But, it went for 30 minutes cooking preparation to the less than 10 minutes of eating...

So I considered this a success story, signed and sealed!  The sausage pastry roll was dedicated for you, abang...good luck for your exam!

One happy day, we went for dine outside....we passed by Taman Suropati and stopped by for the venue...

The kiddos are kudos......they climb, they jump, they run and they're exhausted!  Happy!

DIY : Chalkboard

I was experimenting to rework my used drawer board to become a chalkboard.  Since I have two, I made two for his and his...hahaha...i mean for my eldest and youngest.  Too bad I did not have the before picture....

The youngest is a bit into it..he's writing his first warning sign after it dry : KEEP CLEAN and CALM, please!

Late night Snacks

Happiness is simple....and is when you managed to prepare late night snacks for the hunger kiddos after 3 slice of rainbow cakes and 2 cups of hot choco milk...

Just put lychee yoghurt, crushed OREO choco softcake on top of the waffle and go away hunger face!

I was asked by my bestie to create pinata for her newborn....and the theme is baby boy!  Gosh, baby what?

At first, i would like to create something round, put the baby boy picture on it and put the hat on top, but I was really struggling to print the cute baby face...it become more to scary than cute face by the way! haha...

Soooo.......the plan B was this.....

The youngest is the big fan of Captain America..since I do not have the costume so why don't I prepare something for him?  It's simple anyway...

Here is the result...the confusing theme of Toy Story slash Captain America with the cowboy hat minus the costume!

Galeri Nasional

It's been a while to realize I was long time over due to visit mall..In contrary, the kiddos loves to go to museum..here we are, spending our weekend at Galeri Nasional Jakarta, in front of Gambir station.  You need to go there while there are any exhibitions I guess. But I like the place, nuff spot for photo shoot!

Waterless Jelly Fish

My colleague throw the idea to have DIY Jelly Fish for her son's bday.  I was volunteering myself to create ones and I am in love with it!

Jojo, let's go swimming with your waterless jelly fish!

Writing Therapy

Me and the eldest are having a fun game at the moment...handwriting therapy game as we may call.

It started when his teacher refused to examine his test as she could not read his handwriting......at the first glimpse, hand writing could be an issue for teenagers at anytime and to me, boys will be boys......what could be expected from a boy handwriting?  so I am at my ignorance stage that bad handwriting is an issue...

But after a while, I happily announced that it is an issue now, young man...if your teacher refused to look at your test :)

So I run a writing therapy for 10 minutes everyday.  He could read anything he likes and starts to rewrite it clearly.  We just started 2 days ago, and it may end for another 4 to 5 months...

I read from grapho therapy handbook, it is suitable for kids below 13 and the best time to exercise is 10 minutes everyday....maybe he'll end up to be a novelist someday..hahaha..hang it on, boy!

The Bash Day

The boy is the  ultimate museum lover.  The first plan was to have the bday at the museum, only the four of us.  I was imagining myself at the Museum Nasional, sitting at the bench with my picnic basket and the burgers, watching the kiddos running errands and doing some photo shoots with the dragon and robot masks..it will be the coolest pictures ever, I presume... 

In the unfortunate, or fortunate event (I am not complaining, though), it was a national holiday on that day and we ended up by touring to the closed gate on each museums.  I am sorry, honey, mom was too lazy to browse the place before the D day *sigh*  Lucky, we have had our photo shoots beforehand with your robot lil' bro!

I am not a good well-wisher, B-boy.....and I am not good at allowing myself to accept you are growing up either....just wishing you a happy birthday.  

Go get your world, young man, we all luv u! 

Teenager Bash #3

And of course, as mom's specialty of the day (the only specialty I had *grin*), I prepared the burgers with lip toppers.  

I made the chicken rolled with enoki mushrooms, put two slice in the bun, topped with cheese, put it  in a microwave for two minutes to get melted....yum!

The second prep, I think it's gonna be cool to have this robot and dragon masks for the party! The robots for the boys and the green dragon and stripe hat are for me, with teenie tiny pink ears! mr printables

It is the eldest turn now to have his bash this month...and believe me, it is not easy to persuade him to have a party...teenager!  So I started with this, putting lampions at my backyard...

Homemade Lasagna

Yippee...i could cook lasagna now!  I considered this as my achievement and cheaper than you buy :P

Playparq Kemang

Maybe thousands of people has reviewed this place and I am the last.  Yes, we were the first timer to go to Playparq Kemang Timur after, maybe, established two or three years back, hmm..

The pictures tell you all, my youngest with his bff were happy at the playground with less crowd and the food was surprisingly quick  service with thousands of food choice (of course, I am lebay on that thousands part!)  Thank you tante Putri for inviting us!

Cooking Playdate

One of the beauty of digital world is that you are connected wherever you are. And this is me and my lil sis new hobby...

When we cooked the new recipe, we'll share and compete each other to cook the same... since the sis is living in Kuala Lumpur, I called this sista virtual cooking play date...yay!

To start with, I cooked fish balls with crispy rice noddle.

Drama

I think people tend to create drama in their life..to justify the complexity, even for a simple thing.  It is easy to find people complaining..even only to announce their mood of the day.

In my humble opinion, I don't get that...problems are everywhere and issues are everyday......Big, small, good or bad..

Life is not easy, I agree, yet the challenge is how to simplify your life and look to your problems gracefully.

Us, are obliged to find a way out...and it is you to decide to become a drama queen or a driver of your life and be happy all the way!

The Cooking Day

And yes this is the cooking day...we made choco balls topped with choco sprinkles at my in law's.  We also prepared the kid's table with colorful chairs and oh oh, not to forget, the Chef's hat!  

It was a messy-yet-fun-cooking and the kiddos were just eating the biscuits without even molding it..haha!  F-U-N.

And this is the cooking class materials.  I had plastic plates and knifes bought from Ikea, cake molds from Pasar Mayestik and cupcake toppers leftover from my previous cooking class at my youngest' class...so happy to prepare this!

Tried the Beef Ravioli at Negev for lunch yesterday...the sauce is light, the ravioli is perfectly cooked..what else you expect?

Soto Padang Mangkuto

To introduce traditional Indonesian food is a homework..as a lazy working mom, I always bring the kiddos to the fastest food chain to eat out....fast food.  So, whenever and wherever we vote for the place to dine, the kiddos will proudly vote for it...sigh!

This time is an exception. We go for soto Padang Hj. Mangkuto at Pintu Air Pasar Baru.

They are only selling soto padang, nothing else,..but believe me, you won't be dissapointed and one bowl is never enough.  First rule, do not put anything, sip the broth, enjoy it and later put the sambals.....

and the kiddos?  i hope those smiling faces representing their happy hunger faces for the soto, yay!
