Microwave Dried-Shumay

This is what happened when you are far away from home but desperately craving for comfort food.

Look at my homemade shumay trial with microwave, correction : homemade dried-shumay trial, dried dead...hiks.

I chopped the chicken, put tapioca flour, seasoning and garlic, and cooked for 15-minutes heat..next time I need to put only 10 minutes max to make chewy-slash-steamy taste inside! #bangkoklife

Or Tor Kor Market

I think this place deserves one post.

Located next to Bangkok's busy Chatuchak weekend market, Or Tor Kor market is packed with local produce that ranges from fresh to dry specialities from the Asian continent.  It displays exotic fruits and veggie that are unique to Thailand as well as imported products from around Asia.  The market is immaculately clean, brightly lit, allowing shoppers to cruise conveniently for seafood, sweets and cooked food.  Furthermore, tourists will enjoy wide selection of perpared curry pastes and spices to take home.  Can you see the DURIAN?  oh YES, YES....happy to the MAX! #bangkoklife

Cooking Me Time

Been busy lately with worklife, I guess i need to have a break sometimes, not to complain though...

I always find myself enjoying the moment when someone ordering me to cook for small event.  I am not the one who cooks, of course, I will leave that to my trusted Mbak Harti, as i know she loves to cook so much.  We both had agreed, unconditionally, that, she will do the cooking, I will help a bit and do the photography side!

Aha, yes..some people may say this is truly unfair but hey, people may have some special interests on their life and we seal this as our cooking ME TIME!

Another Cooking Class

Was so excited preparing the cupcake project for my nephews and nieces and their gang.

At first i was thinking to have skirt sewing class where they could learn to cut and drag the sewing machine.  But then I realized it's too ambitious with only one machine and at least 5 kiddos to handle...no no no...plan B please!

I think it's still quite ambitious for having the cupcakes just to consider I never bake any before.  Baking is not my thing.  Well, of course I can dig up some recipes but for the first timer like me to seal a cupcake approval?

To make more fun to the story, when I was done making the cupcake one day before, I was uploading the picture to my instagram and path.  My bestie suddenly texting me and asking what kind of food coloring I used.  She instantly recognized I used one brand when she was using earlier and made her cake become bitter!

OMG, not now, not now!  I hate this shocking news.  This is my first time cupcake and i don't have time to bake more cake tomorrow as I must cook for the birthday lunch as well!

Luckily,  the cake went fine though is as not as fluffy as I thought.  I was running out  baking soda and vinegar and as usual my buttermilk was slightly off my expectation.  All that trouble was really paid off looking at the kiddos happy face when they're screaming for more cupcakes...Happiness is!

Pancake Experiment

Experimenting on Martha Stewart Best Buttermilk Pancakes...my big failure is to substitute the buttermilk with the milk and white vinegar mix.  I was so overwhelmed to mix the vinegar with low-cal milk which I think is a big No!  I turned to add greek yoghurt to the mixture, and thankfully it works....well, If the recipe asked for heavy milk, then you follow it, please!

Anyhow, first effort was okay...but i think I will add one more egg on the next batch to elevate the moist!

Heavy Hippie Hi-Lo Combo

Last night, we did some experiments on late-night snacking....

Starting with the usual fried banana order from hubby, I dumped some Oreos into the batter, seeking an approval from the youngsters for their new snacking. They nodded their head saying yes at loud and I love how the Oreos melted in your mouth. But I doubt to do the second batch....oreo and deep fried? too much? hmmm...

Second dump is the mbak's creation...CHEESY MAC! (yes, with capital letters!)

This is her go-to snacking whenever she felt clueless what to serve for breakfast.  She always feels the kiddos will get hungry easily during their school-time and she decided to load with heavy meal in the morning.  She does this all the time, I sometime argue but most of the time I let it go...Well, at least it's saving my morning hassle running late!

And last, inspired by this vegan banana pecan muffins I eagerly copy cat the recipe...sort of.  I thought I will have a nice-smell-good-light muffin...but I don't think i copycat the recipe religiously, kinda not liking the smell and texture.   Anyhow, will try the second batch at the soonest, wish me luck! #talkingtomyselfmoment

Let's seal the day with Heavy Hippie Hi-Lo Calorie Combo!

What's in the LunchBox

Despite the thigh pain while doing my 3-days juice detox FR TWO last time, I think i started gaining benefit while doing so...I feel my body adjusting itself in some ways i could not describe.

Headache, fatigue and sleepy-head are moved away slowly. And I am full easily after one full bowl of papaya in the morning and stop craving on black coffee dipped with choco biscuits for brunch.  oh yes, i will not stop this fruity-thingy-habit then.....desperately need a light-weight body conscious!

Banana Berry Ice Cream

We were having so much fun last night stirring, punching, smashing the banana...the youngest was so happy to create, he even asked me to take a video of him like a professional chef doing the How-To!

The happiness continued as he asked to do the hi-five celebrating our ice-cream success story,..hahaha....too bad, the eldest had gone sleeping last night, else we will be the best trio ice-cream maker.....Say Banana!
