Feeling stupid is when you took pinata orders when your mbak were pulang kampung, you could not take leave, busy at work, run through business dinners and preparing family lunch on independence day.  

I know i know....I am exaggerating and I am so lebay but never underestimate any small tasks in any case...that's what I learnt so far!

Never thought these orders would have me spent 4 days sleeping midnight and count on painkiller ointment for my back-pain....hahahahaha.

Fast forward....what made me proud, my eldest said that i am his IDOL mom, working late just to put each layers on pinata and managed to finish it on time.  Arrghh, sweet boy, all my back-pain suddenly GONE GONE GONE!

Pique Piquenique

Last day holiday season, let's seal it with piquenique at the.......hotel! At least we pretend to! 

Nannyless Mode

Lebaran day, time with no home assistants in town....something that somehow I feel blessed.  

The youngsters are hands on, well, sort of....in doing the housework.  And surprisingly more for cooking.  I am not sure from where they got the cooking euphoria, but they are so enthusiast in arranging dinner menu, peeling off the carrot, frying chicken katsu.  Okay lah..with mom's limited cooking ability, let's work it out!

Lazy Cooking

Coming home late night, hubby had had his own dinner, kiddos out at grandma's.....my kinda dinner? LAZY COOKING!

Baked Rice

Ramadhan ritual, to cook nasi bakar for iftar at the mosque.  When I asked the boys to help me wrapping the rice..they felt helpless.  They were willing to exchange their XBox game with nasi liwet...oh come on boys, you're fasting!

SAM

Late post from last holiday in Spore...keen to take the youngsters to visit museum, well at least this was mom's fave and we landed at SAM, Singapore Art Museum.

Convenient, less crowded yet homey..the kiddos were quite amused with manually tin pin maker, solved the puzzling art photos, paintings and watched a video installation at the chapel sitting in the bean couch..such a warm  and cozy entertaining!

Cheese Bliss

I've been eyeing this simple recipe Cheese Bliss from one of my foodie community friend..looks like anyone can do, and it's proven, even my youngsters can bake it.

Unfortunately, i kinda not like the texture..it's more to baked pancake than cookies, it's perfect to be called baby kastengels.  

I was thinking now to modify as cake base kinda topped it off with ice cream and condensed milk , choco and almond maybe?

For the love of preserving the heritage, iam preparing tauco medan for my bestie son traditional theme bazaar at his junior high school...doubt the kids will love it, is my mom inlaw recipe anyway.. thank u mom, luv u!

Catering Gathering

Cooking is fun, supposed to...but when it comes to high volume, it's more than time management and a fit mind body and soul to keep you sane to maintain the deliciousness. Surely no itsy pitsy place to play around!

#its my personal  opinion after preparing nasi liwet, grilled fish, stir fried tempe, fried fish ball, chicken with coconut milk, and fried mushroom for 75 pax with only me and 2 helpful home assistants..some were suggesting me to open a restaurant, and I would say worthy happy but exhausted!

Fusion Lo Ma Gai

My youngest is somehow can eat anything.  In contrary, my eldest is a picky eater, and he's a big fan for any food with choco or cheese. 

I am not sure why, but I am more comfortable to bake anything sweet, choco-based cookies or cake.  It is just because the recipe is like everywhere and anything with choco or cheese is effortless!

This is a true challenge to prepare different snacking for two happy foodie youngsters.  With that high-creativity spirit to prepare, I eagerly to make fusion lo ma gai a.k.a. lemper. 

Did the youngsters eat them all? again, only the youngest, sigh..Should I not give up trying?

Wholewheat Carob Cookies

Healthier version for exam snacking...wholewheat flour, carob powder, brown sugar and white choco on top cookies.  Baking is all about experiment!

The kiddos always find a reason for mom to prepare late night snacking to prevent exam-hunger.....and here is Mug Cake!

Banofee Pie

Been truly inspired by this recipe Chocolate Banana Custard Pie on the weekend, the kiddos were having fun a great time in filing the banana, choco and custard...and surprisingly, the layers were quite striking, at least for me!

Easy Saturday

Easy weekend, easy Saturday...trying to make out for a pencil skirt.  I am not Kim Kardashian nor Victoria Beckham , and yet, my skirty skirt not that body-hugging figure look-a-like! (sigh)

Sistahood

The discussion started two years back when my lil sis was still in Kuala Lumpur. We were dreaming to create kids event, be it drawing, coloring or singing..

We believe that  to make children happy does not require a rocket scientist knowledge. Children need not fancy toys, and they don't need luxurious playland.  We believe children only need a room to move, run and play.

I throw back again the idea for having a cooking class - it's my signature skill anyway, nothing else i can do....and think about who's gonna be our students.  Well, my sis in-law runs a Math & English tutoring classes...why don't I ask for students?

And the rest of the story was all about exciting moment.  I never thought it'd become a family project.  My lil sis tutoring kids yoga, my mom was a busy assistant making sure all runs well (plus cleaning all the messy things...you-know-mom-will-not-tolerate-anything messy, won't they?), my lil brother was taking a job as a handsome photographer and pinata care-taker, and my brother in-law donating tremendous door prizes.  Not to forget, I found new talents and devoted assistants which I will definitely ask their help again on our next project and they are my cute nephews and niece!  They were so adorable and able to run the event right in order!  

I could guarantee we all slept that night with happy feeling, including the students...Happiness is!

Nighttime DIY

And to continue the euphoria of nighttime DIY, the youngest was self-crayon coloring the guitar....you-go, boy! #proudmom

Sushi Balado

It may sound strange..but I never thought to be so much easy to prepare breakfast.  You just need to store nori at home, and wrap any leftover with rice...Sushi balado ala me, done deal!

MOVE

I would not say I am a proud mom when it comes to maintaining family's health.  I am a kinda person who tends to please everyone with food.  I bake choco cookies, choco crumble, red velvet cake without any guilt, sweet-tooth..I put lots of cheese on nuggets,chicken cordon bleu, and pizza....spread lots of butter and mozarella on is a MUST and the guilt continues...seeing the happy kiddos face makes me wanna bake and bake more..

soooo....i need to pay it off to stay healthy.  Introducing MOVE, our belated 2014 campaign as we need to stay awesomely healthy! We will move, walk, run, swim, dance from now on..whenever and wherever we can.  

Don't be lazy kiddos, LET'S MOVE......you will soon find out the benefit when you grow older!

Designer Mood Board

I started to use my chalkboard wall to draw something...it is very handy. Feels like a fashion designer wannabe drawing the patterns on what so-called the mood board..hahaha, I wish!

Yippppee..can't really get over with chalkboard wall.  I purposely painted my outdoor wall to become chalkboard wall.  One thing for sure, it would be very useful and handy for your DIY ideas as long as you're ok to get your hands dirty!

The Bazzaria

Such a new experience..a happy one, indeed..

Working on a small stall on a small bazaar and the ah-mazing moment was that being an entrepreneur was not easy, time consuming, demanding on a high energy level, not to count the fearness of being loss...

Still, i considered this as a countless blessed and a bunch of feeling grateful having such experience..Happiness is!
