Last week, was our wedding anniversary, for 15 years! Can't believe we had been together for years!

We Love Jekarda!
Yes....we really do!
It's started when I finished the Princess pinata for my bestie's daughter and started to think why don't I make something more Indonesia. I think to have Wayang pinata just for my own pleasure. It's gonna be fun to prepare a touch of Indonesia project with the kiddos.
And then came the surprising request! My cutie twin nephews are going to have Pekan Budaya Betawi at their school and me of course said yes to help!
At first, I wanted to have like a dance stage and put some Yapong dancer dolls performing look-alike. Arguably, Ondel-ondel or Yapong dancers theme were forbidden.
OK la, no worry...I changed the theme to Betawi House...well, sort of. Who would not know Betawi house terrace, with the colorful fence and door? We also do not forget the bemo and the kerak telor push cart...hey, Betawi will be meaningless without those two!
We even had fun photo shot with the terrace!
So thanks to u, Zandra and Daffa....you guys made your auntie happy!

Banana Choco Ice cream
Well.....I am a bit hopeless after coconut avocado failure...but I have piled up frozen banana in the freezer and craving for something cold.
Blend the frozen banana with cocoa powder and brown sugar, and surprisingly it works.
Unlike avocado, the frozen banana gives you effortless creamy texture and the kiddos love it so much!
Hmmm....there is something that you need to learn about surprise!

Coconut Avocado Ice Cream
Total confession...i just realized i never introduced avocado to the kiddos so when I blended coconut avocado which was meant to be my go-to ice cream, it was a total blast,...totally....a NAY than YAY!
I was feeling meh,but no worry ...me will finish this up!

Another Choco Choc
And here is the result of 36 hours chilled dough...I would say, the days frozen process made it perfect. It's harden the dough a little and easy to mold. It has a sweet smell sensation once you defrozen the dough.
What I was slightly off with the recipe is that the flour combo was a bit too much so it does not give you the oeey gooey crumb inside as my liking. But hey, i do not blame the recipe, it could be just me whom again too lazy reading it thoroughly.
I was thinking to change the bread flour into whole wheat or change the light brown sugar with the carob, cocoa powder substitute to make it more perfect and healthy.
So kiddos, don't get bored with your momma baking experiment!

Minion Pinata
And the blue creature has its own name...M-I-N-I-O-N!
I hate when I failed to create a 3D pinata. It's not about laziness, I would say...it's just 3D creature requires more time to do..and I don't have that!
Anyway, the 2D will at least have the similarity when it comes to cartoon character. As long as the kiddos recognized it quickly, that works for me!

Flour Friendship
I am starting to build my friendship with flour, yeast, baking powder, baking soda, buttermilk...and all that newbie baking ingredients now with the hope it will last long....
Like I said before, reading and following recipe is one story and to make it works is another story. I am a self-proclaimed lazy baker, where I used to skip some recipe instructions judging yourself that if you use ur common sense, anything will work.
And after several baker's test, I was totally wrong. If it said, you must preheat your oven, you switch on your oven before you start kneading...if it said you have to use instant yeast and let the dough rest for 1-2 hours...u let it rest else you have your bread rock!
Baking is my new toy, no matter no one will eat your bread...hahaha....until then, I will continue my search to build a long lasting friendship with baking...Hoo to the ray!

D Day.....Science Day
Gosh, I remember now that I'd been wanting to have Volcano project since I was teenager, inspired by The Cosby show era. Oh yes, I am that old school girl!
You've easily blown away when u saw 4th grade students were eager to make complicated school science project though I now realize that was not a rocket science anyway..
So when the school offered me to volunteer on Science day, I simply say yes to Volcano project. Just put baking soda, vinegar, red food coloring, and you're done! The kiddos enjoyed the process of deconstructing the mountain..aha!

The Prep Day
This was my latest project at the youngest school. They organized a Science Day where parents volunteering to do a simple science experiment for 1st grade.
I've been wanting to do this for quite so long and the 1st thing come to mind was a volcano experiment with baking soda and vinegar.
For the mountain template, I'd printed out from www.mrprintables.com and build a mountain from play dough. I also prepared 15 templates for the kiddos to try this at home complete with the drinking bottle for the volcano mixture.
Before the D day, I baked some choco coffee cookies for the goodies. Hope the kiddos will love it......wish me luck!

Dough Dinner
In the spirit of introducing a slow food process, we were having pizza dinner last night from the scratch. We prepared the pizza dough by ourselves and free to top on any topping we like.
Mine was Korean style with the mix of gochujang paste, parsley and paprika...and the kiddos, as usual, were sausage and cheese combo, like nothing else matter! you can do your experiment for the best recipe on Pizza Dough...
I used to prepare also for breakfast by having the dough to be baked for 10 minutes and put in the freezer. You could top it whenever wherever you like...easy,...happy!

The Baker's Test
Being a baker is definitely not an easy job....to my experience. Reading and following recipe is one story and to make it works is another story. Making bread is purely science and about building a chemistry with your instant yeast and flour.
Every experiment is like a test, a baker's test...sometimes you are a breadstar, sometimes you are a looser...Likewise, I always enjoy the process, regardless the taste :) #selfdefensemode

The Bash
No matter how much I love to decorate for birthday, but I'm not into my own and same should go for my children. Birthday is just a day in your life, you should celebrate silently and peacefully.
But that was until last week when the youngest wanted a bash with a giant Superhero cake. Hmmm....well....
Luckily, the school does not allow him to have a big celebration so I am eager to only prepare candy boxes and juice wrapping for his schoolmate. I print and cut from Mr.printables. It is not much honey, but I hope it is something.....Me heart u, baby boy!

Hasselback Cheesy
Bread...bread...bread...I feel like there is always a mistery behind the bread. It's the combination between math, and science or whichever subject I hate when I was in high school. You add too much water, your dough will be slumpy..you minus the butter and milk, it will be hard rock....gosh! Kneading the dough is another story..tiring yet frowning..haha...
Anyway, been inspired by this recipe Hasselback garlic cheesy bread. I am a happy little girl with two kiddos waiting for the bread from the oven!
